Safety Watch SiteAlert FAQs
Getting in touch is the best way to get specific questions answered but we’ve put together some information to the most often asked questions on the Safety Watch SiteAlert.
What is Safety Watch SiteAlert?
Safety Watch SiteAlert is a lone worker alarm solution that connects the Safety Watch to an on site alarm receiver and audible buzzer. When the SOS button is pressed, the system sounds a local alarm and follows the agreed escalation process.
Who is Safety Watch SiteAlert designed for?
It is designed for single site businesses where employees may work alone or out of sight, but where first aiders, managers or colleagues are available elsewhere on site.
What happens when the SOS button is pressed?
The watch calls the approved alarm receiver. The receiver recognises the watch number and activates the connected alarm for a set period.
The watch then continues its normal alert process, such as SMS escalation or ARC monitoring.
Can it be self monitored?
Yes. In a self monitored setup, the system can trigger the local alarm and send SMS alerts to nominated escalation contacts.
Can it be ARC monitored?
Yes. In an ARC monitored setup, the watch can trigger the local alarm while the alert is also sent to the Alarm Receiving Centre for professional escalation.
Can multiple watches trigger the same receiver?
Yes. Approved watch numbers can be configured so that authorised devices can trigger the receiver.
Is this suitable for warehouses and manufacturing sites?
Yes. It is particularly useful in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, logistics sites and other workplaces where employees may work alone in different areas of the building.
Does this replace a lone worker policy?
No. Safety Watch SiteAlert supports your lone worker procedures, but employers still need risk assessments, training, supervision and a clear emergency response plan.
Is the Alarm activation instant?
The system is designed so that when the watch calls the alarm receiver and the receiver accepts the authorised call, the buzzer is triggered for the configured period.
How do I know if I need self monitoring or ARC monitoring?
That depends on your risk level, working hours, site layout and internal response capability. Almas Industries can review your setup and recommend the most suitable option.
Is this used to track employees all day?
No. The purpose of SiteAlert is employee safety and emergency response. The system is configured to support alerts, location guidance and usage reporting during working hours on site.
Will employees need to wear the device outside work?
No. The SafeWatch is intended to be worn on site during relevant shifts or tasks. It should form part of the agreed lone worker safety procedure.
What happens if someone collapses and cannot press the button?
The SafeWatch can support automatic alerts based on risk indicators such as fall detection, loss of verticality, inactivity or lack of movement, helping raise an alert even if the employee cannot respond manually.
Do we need external ARC monitoring?
Not necessarily. For this site, the solution can be configured around internal response contacts because you already have on site security, medical support and first aid provision.
How does the system help in a large workfloor?
Bluetooth beacons can help divide large spaces into smaller zones, making it easier to identify where an alert has been triggered and direct the nearest responder.
Can we report on whether devices are being used?
Yes. The employer platform provides visibility of alerts and non usage reporting, helping supervisors understand whether the safety process is being followed.
What about ATEX areas?
Where employees work in potentially explosive or specialist hazardous environments, Almas Industries can recommend suitable ATEX certified lone worker devices.
